We receive a number of requests or comments about our white and clear glitters. We realize there is a lot of confusion around them so we have created this response.

In the description of each glitter you will see near the top (bullet points) where it will say OPAQUE (solid), TRANSPARENT (light shows through), or TRANSPARENT (clear). If you only look at the pictures of the glitters you might think that everything that looks white is Opaque. This is definitely not the case! What happens to Transparent glitter when it is piled up high/thick, is that it begins to look white-ish. When it is spread super thin then it looks clear again.  Transparent glitter also does this and the thicker it gets the less light will pass through it. Also, smaller flakes look more white than bigger ones (because you are seeing the cut edge).

Iridescent glitters are clear or translucent. Some are clear with flashes of color and others are tinted with flashes of color. If you are looking for a completely clear glitter with no "color shift" properties then do not look at any Iridescent glitters. For a true clear glitter, you can find them in the Craft Glitter section as well as Clear Radiance in the polyester section.

Opaque white glitters do exist. There are some in the Craft Glitter section. These glitters are not metallic! They are glossy and do not have that super reflective finish like most traditional glitters. If you are looking for a reflective metallic white flake, then you might take a look at Arctic Frost in the polyester section of the website.

Hope this helps!
